Common Trading Risks

1. Fake Cash & Counterfeit Money

  • Always verify cash with UV lights, counterfeit detection pens, or watermark checks.
  • Conduct cash transactions in secure locations like banks with surveillance.
  • Be cautious of high-denomination bills, as they are frequently counterfeited.

2. Fraudulent Transfers & Chargebacks

  • Payment methods such as PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, bank transfers, and credit cards can be reversed.
  • If a buyer initiates a chargeback after receiving Monero, you may lose your funds.
  • Prefer using irreversible payment methods like cash, Monero, or certain wire transfers.

3. Identity Theft & Social Engineering

  • Do not share personal details like your real name, address, or financial information.
  • Avoid traders who demand excessive verification or personal documents.

5. Phishing, Malware & Fake Websites

  • Always verify you are on the official XMRGlobal website before logging in.
  • Use Tor and our .onion domain for enhanced privacy.
  • Bookmark the correct URL to avoid phishing scams.
  • Never download unknown files or click suspicious links.

6. Meet-up Robberies & Physical Safety

  • Meet in well-lit, secure locations with surveillance, such as inside a bank.
  • Avoid discussing the trade openly in public places.
  • If a trade seems unsafe, leave immediately.

7. Fake Proof of Payment

  • Scammers may send fake payment confirmations or doctored screenshots.
  • Always verify payments independently before releasing Monero.

8. Releasing Funds From Escrow

  • Never release Monero before receiving, verifying, and securing the payment.
  • Once you release Monero from escrow, the transaction is final and cannot be reversed.
  • If you release funds to a scammer, XMRGlobal is not responsible for any loss.

9. Handling Disputes & Required Information

  • In case of a dispute, XMRGlobal may require proof of payment or chat logs to resolve the issue.
  • This information is only used for dispute resolution and will be purged once resolved.
  • Such data will never be shared with anyone except XMRGlobal site admins.
