XMRGlobal is a peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace for buying and selling Monero (XMR) securely and privately. This guide is designed for beginners and will walk you through everything you need to know to trade Monero confidently. You’ll learn how to create an account, post trade ads, complete transactions, withdraw funds, communicate securely, and resolve disputes if necessary.

START HERE: Setup PGP Key

XMRGlobal uses PGP-based login, eliminating the need for passwords. This guide will walk you through:

  • Creating an account on XMRGlobal
  • Generating or importing a PGP key
  • Authenticating with PGP

How To Generate or Import a PGP Key

To Register/log in, you need a PGP key pair. You can either generate a new one or import an existing one.

How To Generate a New PGP Key

If you don’t have a PGP key, create one using Kleopatra (Windows) or GPGsuite (Linux/Mac).

Using Kleopatra (Windows):

  1. Install Gpg4win and open Kleopatra.
  2. Click "New Key Pair".
  3. Select “Create a Personal OpenPGP Key Pair”.
  4. Enter a Name and Email.
  5. Click Advanced Settings to set a key size (4096-bit recommended).
  6. Click Create, then set a passphrase.
  7. Save your private key securely.

Using GpgTools (MacOs):

  1. Download GPGsuite and complete the installation process

  1. Choose RSA (4096-bit).
  2. Set an expiration (or choose no expiration).
  3. Enter your Name and Email.
  4. Set a strong passphrase.
  5. Export your public key

Using GnuPG (Linux/Mac Terminal) to find your PGP KEY on GnuPG,

gpg --list-keys

  • Copy the 40-digit alphanumeric code on the account you want to generate a key for…

gpg --armor --export <paste_code_here>

Your PGP Key should look like this, copy from the beginning to the end of the message and paste it on your XMRGlobal login page.

How To Import an Existing PGP Key

On Windows, Open Kleopatra and click Import.

  1. Select your public key (.asc file).
  2. Ensure it appears in your key list.

On Mac, Use GPGsuite:

 Click on import.

On GnuPG (Terminal):

gpg -import <key.asc>

After importing, you can verify the key with

gpg --list-keys

With PGP Key authentication, XMRGlobal ensures secure, passwordless logins for enhanced privacy. You can now continue the login process successfully

Step 1: Register on XMRGlobal

  • Enter a username and paste your PGP public key.
  • Enter CAPTCHA
  • Click “Register”.
  • The system will send you a PGP-encrypted message

How To Decrypt 2FA Response PGP Key

  • Copy the entire message and save it in a newly named file (e.g. message.asc), you will need to decrypt this message to get the verification number.
  • To decrypt For Windows, use Kleopatra: Click Decrypt/Verify.

For MacOS/Linux, use GnuPG on the Terminal

gpg --decrypt <message.asc>

Paste Validation Number

  • Paste the verification code in the input box
  • Enter CAPTCHA and submit, You are now securely logged in.

Step 2: Create a Trade Ad

Open the dashboard by clicking on the trade icon

  • You are now on your dashboard and it will look like this.

Click On Ads

  • Click on “Ad” and then “Create" 

Choose Ad Type

  • Select Buy Monero if you are a seller looking for users who are buying XMR
  • Select Sell Monero if you are a buyer looking for users who are selling XMR.
  • Choose the currency you want to transact with
  • Select the country you want to trade in
  • Choose a Payment Method

Set Trade Parameters

  • Price: Choose a fixed price or market-based rate.
  • Trade Limits: Define minimum and maximum trade amounts.

Define Trade Conditions

  • Payment Info In Trade: Clearly state your accepted payment method(s) (e.g., bank transfer, PayPal, cash deposit, Revolut, crypto swap).
  • Trade Terms: Specify restrictions and conditions for your ad. Examples;

"Only accept payments from bank accounts registered in the buyer's name."

"No third-party payments or business accounts."

"No notes like ‘crypto’ or ‘XMR’ in the transfer description."

"Only accept cash deposits with printed receipts—no online deposits."

  • Review your details and click "Add Ad".

Publish the Ad

  • Your Sell or Buy ad is now live on XMRGlobal!

Step 3. Trade XMR Anonymously

HOW TO BUY MONERO

The Buy Monero Online Tab is for users who want to buy XMR. You can find the list of sellers to buy from on this list.

  • You can also navigate the Homepage and filter by Buy/Sell, payment method or price, etc.

Let’s say you want to buy 0.01 $XMR from a trusted trader based in Andorra and you wish to pay with Bank Wire, you just filtered by payment method and the result was a trader named -Polly.

  • You can see Polly has a trade limit of 0.05 $XMR
  • Start the trade by clicking on BUY

  • Enter amount 
  • Click on “start trade”

  • Make the payment into the seller’s payment details provided.
  • click on ‘’I have paid”

Wait for confirmation that your payment has been received.

  • The transaction is now completed
  • Leave a feedback
  • confirm your wallet balance.

HOW TO SELL MONERO

This Sell Monero Online Tab is for users who want to sell XMR. You can find the list of trusted buyers on this list.

  • Click on the user of your choice you want to sell to.

Let’s say you want to sell 1 $XMR to a trusted trader who lives in the USA in exchange for $USD via Bank Wire. You filtered the marketplace by payment method and the result was a trader named - Janet.

  • Click on “SELL”
  • Enter Trade Details

  • Enter the trade amount and Click “Start trade” 

Understanding How Escrow Works

  • When a trade starts, your XMR is locked in escrow until Janet makes a payment to you.
  • Remember to only Communicate with the other trader within the platform’s secure message box...

Confirming Payment

  • Janet Sent the payment as per the instructions in the trade description.
  • verify the payment when received and release the Monero from escrow by clicking “I confirm and I release XMR”

Finalizing the Trade Securely

  • Leave feedback to help future traders.
  • NEVER release payment outside escrow or before verification.

Step 4. How To Withdraw To Wallet

  • Navigate to Wallet and select Withdraw XMR.

  • Enter the withdrawal amount (full or partial balance).
  • Provide your Monero wallet address (ensure it’s correct).

Confirming the Withdrawal & PGP Signing

  • Review your withdrawal details carefully.
  • Decrypt the PGP message. 
  • Enter the verification code.
  • Click Confirm Withdrawal.
  • Wait for blockchain confirmations; withdrawal times depend on network conditions.

  • Always double-check your Monero address before confirming.
  • Use a secure, private wallet to receive funds.
  • Keep your PGP key safe for future transactions.

Step 5. Send And Read Messages Securely Using PGP

PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) is the primary method used for secure communication on XMRGlobal. It ensures private conversations without relying on a central authority. PGP works with a pair of cryptographic keys:

  • Public Key – Shared with others to receive encrypted messages.
  • Private Key – Kept secret and used to decrypt received messages.

How to Send & Read Encrypted Messages on XMRGlobal

Encrypting a Message:

  1. Select “Start a new conversation”
  2. Obtain the recipient’s username from their XMRGlobal profile.
  3. Type your message and click “Start messenger”

Decrypting a Message:

when you get a reply, it will come as an encrypted PGP, you will have to decrypt it to read the reply.

  1. Copy the received encrypted message from XMRGlobal.
  2. Use the PGP tool to decrypt it. (KLEOPATRA FOR WINDOWS, GnuPG for Linux/Mac)
  3. Read the original plaintext message securely.

Importance of Never Sharing Private Keys

  • Your private key must never be shared or exposed.
  • Store it securely using hardware wallets, password managers, or offline storage.
  • If your private key is compromised, all encrypted communications become insecure.

Best Practices for PGP on XMRGlobal

  • Verify Public Keys: Always confirm a trader’s public key before communication.
  • Sign Messages: Use PGP signatures to prove authenticity.
  • Use Strong Keys: Generate at least a 4096-bit key for maximum security.
  • Rotate Keys: Change your PGP key periodically for added security.

Step 6. How Disputes & Moderation Work

Disputes are evaluated individually, considering the specific payment method and circumstances of each case. All disputes are handled with strict confidentiality, ensuring that no information is shared publicly and maintaining the privacy of all parties involved.

  • Case-by-Case Evaluation: Each dispute is assessed individually based on the payment method and specific circumstances.
  • Confidential Handling: All disputes are managed with strict confidentiality.
  • No Public Disclosure: Information related to disputes is never shared publicly.

If an issue arises during a trade, XMRGlobal provides a dispute resolution process to ensure fairness. Follow these steps to file a dispute:

  1. Go to the Trade Page – Locate the trade in question.
  2. Click "Open Dispute" – Provide detailed information on the issue.
  3. Provide Evidence – Upload transaction receipts, messages, or other proof.
  4. Await Moderator Review – A moderator will assess the case and decide the outcome.

Moderation Process

  • Moderators act as neutral parties to resolve conflicts.
  • Decisions are based on evidence provided by both parties.
  • Escrow funds remain locked until resolution.
